If you could spare a few dollars to help with the running costs of this website would be very much appreciated.

Thank you from Gravesites of Tasmania.

Julia Panton

Julia Panton was the wife of James Panton a former Private at Waterloo, served 12 years in Spain and Europe and was wounded at Quantra Bras and received the Waterlo Medal with 9 clasps. Veteran of RNSWVC 3rd Co and Pensioner Guard.
He retired as a Tailor in Hobart and lived in Soldiers Row until his death in 1862. I think he was buried in St Davids Churchyard but there is no way to be sure as that was taken over for a school and the remaining tablets were removed to Cornelian Bay Cemetery.
They had five children 3 boys and 2 girls. From the girls there are today some 1500 descendents in Australia and New Zealand.
